The Things We CoverFall 2024

Series of 6 chalk pastel drawings. Made by drawing sweeping, lyrical lines then slowly building up layers to obscure the lines, only allowing some to peak through. 

Conceptually, the piece talks about my own personal experience with the world. Where since childhood I have always found it hard to let myself exist as in the world as my true self. I constentally find myself covering aspects of myself that I believe other’s would find unappealing. But the truth is, it’s these things that make a person unique and beautiful. 

Entered into the Student Juried Show at Messiah University and was displayed from May 2025 to 
August 2025.
